CCW Renewal 8-Hour Training Course The Gardena Police Department CCW Renewal 8-Hour Training Course is designed for current CCW permit holders seeking to renew their California Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit through the Gardena Police Department. This course provides updated instruction on firearm safety, legal responsibilities, and responsible concealed carry practices, with a focus on reinforcing safe gun handling, lawful use of force, and situational awareness. Training includes classroom instruction and live-fire range qualification in accordance with California Penal Code Section 26165 and Gardena PD CCW renewal policy. Students will review and demonstrate proficiency in: • Firearm safety and safe handling • Updates to California firearm and self-defense laws • Use-of-force standards and legal considerations • Situational awareness and conflict avoidance • Concealed carry best practices • Defensive handgun fundamentals • Safe storage and transportation • Live-fire qualification with each listed firearm (as required) The live-fire portion reinforces accuracy, safe handling, and compliance with range commands.
